Buster has obtained his CHIC certification this year (2006).
Truffles, Buster, Emmy and Yahtzee all attended the
cardiac & Cerf clinic held in Colbourne, and we went 4 for 4 with all dogs
getting an OFA Cardiac certification, and their CERF as well.
On May 7th we attended the Heart/CERF clinic with 4 of our dogs. Emmy, Yahtzee, Truffles and Buster all obtained their CERF certification, and their OFA cardiac clearance from the Cardiologist. This will qualify Buster to be a CHIC dog, and we are proudly waiting for his CHIC number.
Our young Digger has had his hip prelims done, and everything looks good. We hope Digger will be an asset to our breeding program.
This October 23rd weekend, our beautiful Starr took Best of Winners both days at the Belleville Dog Show. Yay Starr!
We
are proud to announce our first ever CHIC dog; Beardog's
New Beginnings, aka Pepper.(pointed in Canada). Pepper has been tested for
and passed all 4 of the required tests identified by the OFA (Orthopedic
Foundation for Animals; www.offa.org
Her CHIC number is 23807, and Pepper has been bred to our
Buster and is expecting a litter in early October, of all blacks.
Gracie's
puppies are all off to their new homes and doing well, except for our
Digger (Beardog's Havin' A Shindig), who we have kept
for our show/breeding program. The plan was to keep a female from this litter,
but Digger was just too nice a puppy to let go, so he will be staying here to
hopefully pass on his beautiful personality and heavy bone to yet another
generation of Beardoggers. Digger is a grandson to our beloved Hootie,(Beardog's
Havin' a Hootenanny) who we lost to complications of surgery in September of
2001, and is very much like her;big and goofy.
All
of us here at Beardog will miss our show handler, Fawn. Fawn is now engaged and
off to live in Thunder Bay for a couple of years, when she will hopefully return
to once again do the wonderful job that she does in the ring with our dogs.
This May 28th, the Beardoggers had a blast at the Newf Specialty in Gananoque. Our old lady Dreamer came in third place in the veteran's class and our little boy Laker came in second in the junior puppy male class.
May 15th was a busy, happy day at Beardog Kennels. There were heart and eye
clinics nearby, and we are delighted to brag about our dogs
receiving their clearances.
